HTML BOX SCORE

ERIE, PA - Grace Kelleher (Rockville Centre, N.Y./South Side) poured in a career-high seven goals and the Bloomsburg University women's lacrosse tallied seven second-half goals en route to a 12-8 win over Mercyhurst University Saturday in Erie. The win marks the Huskies first victory over the Lakers since 2012, and gives Bloomsburg a 4-1 record on the new season. Mercyhurst falls to 3-2 overall with the loss.

Trailing 6-5 early in the second half, Kelleher gave the Huskies their first lead of the contest with a pair of goals in less than three minutes to nudge Bloomsburg ahead by a point. A goal from Emma Hubert knotted the game a 7-7 at the 20:57 mark, but the Huskies responded with five consecutive goals over the next 16 minutes to secure the comeback win. Hannah Jaskuta (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown Area) kick-started the run with a goal with 15:26 remaining, and Kelleher followed just minutes later with her sixth goal of the game to give Bloomsburg a 9-7 lead.

Goals from Kelsey Kilgallon (Spring City, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) and Abby Kalish (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) extended the lead to four with 6:25 to play in the second, and Kelleher capped the stellar half with her seventh goal of the game with just 4:04 remaining. The redshirt sophomore also added an assist for her career-high eight points. Kalish finished with two goals on the day, while Abby Bergman (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) finished with a team-high five draw controls. Goalkeeper Angela DiPasquale (Paramus, N.J./Paramus) was marvelous once again for the Huskies, notching 14 saves in the complete game victory. The junior led the PSAC in saves per game entering the contest (13.0).

Mercyhurst was powered by two goals and two assists from Hubert, and three goals from Angelina Simon. Kira Kolb tallied six draw controls and three caused turnovers, and Kiera Boettcher added a goal and four draw controls. Raelyn Tiberio got the nod in the cage for the Lakers and had 12 saves in the loss.

The Lakers were the dominant team early in the first half, racing out to a 5-1 lead thanks to a pair of goals from Simon and scores from Huber, Boettcher, and Brenna Fosco. Erika Biehl (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) would slice the deficit to three with a goal at the 16:22 mark, and back-to-back goals from Kelleher would trim the Mercyhurst advantage to just one. A Kalish goal with just 2:37 to play in the half tied it at 5-5 and set the stage for the impressive second period.

Bloomsburg wraps up a three-game road trip next Tuesday, March 19, at Shippensburg. The Huskies return home next Saturday, March 23, to host Millersville. First draw with the Raiders is slated for 4:00 p.m. Tuesday.
