THE STORY
• The Bloomsburg University men's and women's tennis teams return to action with a trio of matches at the Burt Reese Tennis Center on Saturday. The men's team will kick things off with a battle against Edinboro at 10:00 a.m., and the women will follow with a matchup against Shippensburg at noon. The men's team will return to the court at 2:00 p.m. against Mercyhurst. In addition, Kutztown University will travel to Bloomsburg to face Mercyhurst and Edinboro at 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., respectively.
THE HUSKIES AT A GLANCE
• The women's tennis team is in search of a fourth consecutive victory after an impressive 7-0 shutout victory over East Stroudsburg Wednesday.
Siena Cerra (Levittown, Pa./Neshaminy) and
Isabella Sarquis (Belo Horizonte, Brazil/Metodo) earned a 6-0 victory at #3 doubles, while
Cassie Wentz (Windber, Pa./Winber Area) cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 victory at #5 singles.

Cassidy Calimer (Egg Harbor City, N.J./Absegami) is 11-5 in singles competition this season, and has teamed with
Vitoria Nery (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Educandário Santa Maria Goretti) to post an 11-4 record in doubles action.
Taylor Capoferri (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) is 10-7 overall from the lead singles position, and has a 10-5 doubles record with partner
Giovanna Bonito (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Colegio Reino). Wentz is 10-3 overall in singles, while Nery and Bonito have both notched nine wins on the season.
• The men's tennis team is over .500 at 5-4 for the first time this Spring after a pair of victories over Virginia State and Shepherd last weekend.
Robin Luetzig (Hadamar, Germany/Furst Johann Ludwig Schule) had a pair of wins in Sunday's 4-0 victory over Shepherd, while
Oliver Wiesemann (Jena, Germany/Colegio de La Asuncion Malaga) had a 6-0, 6-0 victory at #3 singles against Virginia State. Wiesemann and Luetzig teamed up for a pair of doubles victories on the weekend.

Nagid Walle (Willemstad, Curacao/Saint Andrews (Fla.)) paces the Huskies with a 7-3 overall record, while
Benjamin Tauber (Bethlehem, Pa./Nazareth Area) is 6-5 overall and 6-2 in dual matches.
Lucas Pedrotti (Caxias do Sul, Brazil/Sao Jose) and
Guille Carranza (Sevilla, Spain/Escolapios) have each tallied five wins in singles action. Pedrotti and
Bernardo Abreu (Belo Horizonte, Brazil/Rogedo) have been tremendous as a doubles tandem, posting a 10-2 overall record and 7-1 dual match record. Wiesemann and Carranza have five doubles victories on the year, while Carranza and Walle have also notched five wins as a pair.
SCOUTING SHIPPENSBURG WOMEN'S TENNIS
• 2019 has been a struggle for Shippensburg, who enters Saturday at 1-13 overall, and 0-3 in the PSAC after a 6-0 loss to West Chester on Wednesday. The Raiders have lost four straight, with their last victory coming back on March 16 against Holy Family.
• Maria Drake and Kayla Tryanski have eached claimed a pair of singles victories on the season, while Mary Kate Mullarkey, Megan Moorhead, and Kaylin Gallagher have wins in singles competition as well. Moorhead and Gabbie Binder have teamed up for a pair of victories as a doubles team.
SCOUTING EDINBORO MEN'S TENNIS
• The Fighting Scots are searching for a fifth straight victory Saturday after rolling to a 6-1 victory at the University of Charleston last Saturday. Mauricio Santos had a 6-4, 6-3 win at #2 singles, and he and Nils Plutat teamed up for a 6-4 win at #1 doubles. Mateus Santos and Tommy Hsu earned a 6-2 victory at #2 doubles, while Hsu bounced back from a dropped first set to claim a 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 victory at #4 singles.
• Mauricio Santos paces the Scots with a stellar 17-6 overall singles record, while Plutat is 13-2 on the year. Kevin Mboko has a 12-6 overall record, and Mateus Santos has tallied 11 wins. Julius Sculte is the fifth Edinboro player with double-digit wins on the season, notching a 10-8 overall singles record. Mauricio and Mateus Santos have been dominant as a doubles team this season, posting a 12-4 overall record and 6-1 dual match record.
SCOUTING MERCYHURST MEN'S TENNIS
• The Lakers have been stellar over the last month, notching six consecutive victories to improve to 12-2 overall, and 2-0 in the PSAC. Mercyhurst's last conference action was back on March 24, when the Lakers downed Millersville 6-1. Seventh-ranked Cormac McCooey had a 1-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-6) victory at #1 singles, and teamed with Unai Amilleta Gonzalez for a 6-2 victory at #1 doubles.
• McCooey has been sensational for the Lakers this season, posting a 17-4 overall singles record. Amilleta Gonzalez is 16-4 with a 12-2 dual record, while Sebastian Pardo is 13-4 and riding a nine-match win streak. McCooey and Amilleta Gonzalez are 18-5 as a doubles tandem, and Ruairidh Fraser has teamed with Arseniy Sklyarov to post an 8-4 doubles mark.
LOOKING AHEAD
• Bloomsburg men's tennis will remain at home this Monday, April 15, to host Bucknell University. Both teams will return to action on Tuesday, April 16, against Salem University. First serve with Bucknell is set for 4:00 p.m. Monday.
