BLOOMSBURG, PA - Nagid Walle (Willemstad, Curacao/Saint Andrews (Fla.)) notched a pair of victories on the afternoon as the Bloomsburg University men's tennis team rolled to a 4-1 victory over visiting West Liberty University Saturday. The Huskies close out the regular season with 3 consecutive victories and finish with an overall record of 8-6 heading into next week's PSAC Tournament.

Walle was superb for Bloomsburg Saturday, teaming with Benjamin Tauber (Bethlehem, Pa./Nazareth Area) to notch a 6-4 victory at #3 doubles, and later clinching the match with a 6-3, 6-5 victory over Mauk Smit at #4 singles. Guille Carranza (Sevilla, Spain/Escolapios) and Bernardo Abreu (Belo Horizonte, Brazil/Rogedo) earned a 7-5 victory at #1 doubles to lock up the doubles point for the Huskies.

Quin Bucheit (Shoemakersville, Pa./Hamburg) extended Bloomsburg's lead to two with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Nash Morris at #6 singles, but the Hilltoppers answered when Anton Schulz defeated Oliver Wiesemann (Jena, Germany/Colegio Alemán de Málaga, Spain) 6-1, 6-2 at #3 singles. The comeback would end there, however, as Robin Luetzig (Hadamar, Germany/Furst Johann Ludwig Schule) defeated Akira Kawatbata 6-3, 6-0 at #5 and Walle claimed the victory at #4. Carranza was leading Camilo Moncayo 7-5, 3-3 at #1 singles, and Tauber trailed Joris Gravoulet 2-6, 4-4 at #2 singles when the match was called.

The Bloomsburg women will host Millersville in the PSAC Quarterfinals on Tuesday, April 30, beginning at 4:00 p.m. while the men will play in the PSAC Semifinals on Friday, May 3, against Mercyhurst University. Bloomsburg will, once again, serve as the host of the 2019 PSAC Tournament at the Burt Reese Tennis Center.
