THE STORY
• The Bloomsburg University women's tennis team returns to the Burt Reese Tennis Center on Wednesday afternoon when they host East Stroudsburg University in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) matchup. The Huskies are coming off a successful road trip, claiming a pair of shutout victories at Virginia State and Shepherd University over the weekend.
THE HUSKIES AT A GLANCE
• The Huskies enter Wednesday's matchup with a 10-2 overall record after a pair of non-conference victories over Virginia State and Shepherd this past weekend. Bloomsburg blanked Virginia State 7-0 on Saturday, before traveling to West Virginia to defeat Shepherd 4-0 on Sunday.
Taylor Capoferri (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) and
Cassidy Calimer (Egg Harbor City, N.J./Absegami)Â each went 2-0 in singles competition on the weekend, while Calimer and
Vitoria Nery (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Educandário Santa Maria Goretti) were 2-0 in doubles action. Nery was the lone winner in the Huskies 6-1 loss to West Chester last Thursday, which dropped Bloomsburg to 1-1 in the PSAC on the year.

Cassie Wentz (Windber, Pa./Winber Area)Â is 9-3 overall in singles action this season, while Capoferri and sophomore
Giovanna Bonito (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Colegio Reino) have also notched nine singles victories on the year. Nery has an 8-3 record in singles action and has been on fire lately, winning her last three singles matches. In doubles, Calimer and Nery have teamed for a 10-4 record while Bonito and Capoferri have gone 9-5 overall. Senior
Siena Cerra (Levittown, Pa./Neshaminy)Â has eight wins in doubles action and has partnered with both Wentz and sophomore
Isabella Sarquis (Belo Horizonte, Brazil/Metodo).
SCOUTING EAST STROUDSBURG
• The Warriors have gone 5-5 overall and has posted a 1-1 mark in the PSAC. East Stroudsburg suffered a 7-0 shutout loss to West Chester last Tuesday, but bounced back with an impressive 7-0 shutout win over Shippensburg on Saturday. Lauren Morrissey notched a 6-1, 6-0 singles victory and teamed up with Charity McLeod for a 6-4 doubles win as well. Quinn McCluskey also tallied a pair of wins on the day, earning a 4-6, 6-1, 6-0 victory at #2 singles and pairing with Marina Zardet for a 6-1 win at #1 doubles.Â
• Morrissey and Zardet pace the Warriors with identical 8-5 records in singles action this season, while Amanda Jackson has six wins on the year. Zardet has combined with McCluskey and Aubrianna Stetina for eight doubles victories this season, while McLeod and Morrissey are 2-3 overall as a tandem.
LOOKING AHEAD
• The Huskies remain at home this Saturday, April 13, for a PSAC showdown with Shippensburg. Bloomsburg will then complete its three-match homestand next Tuesday, April 16, against Salem before traveling to Kutztown on Saturday, April 20. First serve with the Raiders is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday.
