THE STORY
• The Bloomsburg University women's tennis team welcomes Slippery Rock University to the Burt Reese Tennis Center for the semifinals of the 2019 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championship Friday afternoon. The Huskies advanced to the semis with a thrilling 4-3 victory over Millersville in the opening round on Tuesday afternoon, while the Rock had a bye by virtue of earning the top seed in the PSAC West.

BLOOMSBURG VS. SLIPPERY ROCK HISTORY
• The Huskies and Slippery Rock are locked in a 17-17 all-time series draw, with the Rock claiming a 9-0 victory at the PSAC Indoor Championships in October of 2017. Bloomsburg's last win in the series came back on September 20, 2009.

THE HUSKIES AT A GLANCE
• Junior Vitoria Nery (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Educandário Santa Maria Goretti) won the deciding match in a third set on Tuesday afternoon to lift the Huskies to a thrilling 4-3 victory over Millersville in the quarterfinals on Tuesday. Bloomsburg has now won seven straight to improves to 15-2 overall. With the win, the Huskies advanced to the PSAC semifinals for the third consecutive season.

• Taylor Capoferri (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) is 12-9 overall from the lead singles position this season, while Cassidy Calimer (Egg Harbor City, N.J./Absegami) is 15-5 overall and 12-3 in the #2 spot. Nery is 12-2 overall and has won eight consecutive singles matches, and Giovanna Bonito (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Colegio Reino) is 11-5 overall in singles action. Cassie Wentz (Windber, Pa./Winber Area) is 14-3 overall, primarily in the #5 singles spot, and Sarquis rounds out the singles lineup with a 10-2 overall singles record.

• Calimer and Nery have posted a 13-4 overall mark as a doubles tandem, while Bonito and Capoferri are 13-5 as a duo. Both pairings have won their last five matches entering Friday's contest. Sarquis and Siena Cerra (Levittown, Pa./Neshaminy) are 7-4 overall, primarily in the #3 doubles slot.
 
SCOUTING SLIPPERY ROCK
• The Rock claimed the number one seed in the PSAC West after posting an overall record of 15-7, and a perfect 6-0 mark in conference play. Slippery Rock has won its last four matches entering postseason play, including a 7-0 shutout victory over California (PA) to close out the regular season. 

• Lacey Cohen is 16-13 overall from the lead singles spot this season, while Viola Lugmayr 15-11 overall and 10-7 at #2 singles. Lois Page is 18-11 and has primarily played in the #3 position, and Olivia Warner is 19-9 overall. 

• Lugmayr and Page have been sensational as a doubles tandem, posting an 18-7 overall record this year. Cohen and Warner have combined for 14 wins at the #2 doubles spot, and Lauren Fadden and Allie Welch have teamed up to win six doubles matches this season.

LOOKING AHEAD
• With a win Friday, the Huskies will advance to play the winner of Friday's Mercyhurst/West Chester match on Saturday, May 4, at 10:00 a.m.
