STORYLINE
The Bloomsburg University men's soccer team heads back on the road Wednesday night for a non-conference matchup against Bloomfield College. The Huskies went 1-1 during the opening weekend of the regular season while the Bears enter with an 0-2 overall mark.
ALL-TIME SERIES
Bloomsburg leads the all-time series against Bloomfield, 5-2-1. The two teams met at Steph Pettit Stadium last season with the Huskies picking up a 1-0 shutout victory over the Bears.
Kevin Rodriguez (Pottstown, Pa./Pottsgrove) scored the lone goal in the 52nd minute off of an assist from
Lael Cherry (Gros Islet, St. Lucia/Castries Comprehensive) while
Trey Orner (Lancaster, Pa./Conestoga Valley) stopped all five shots he faced to earn the shutout.
SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
Bloomsburg enters the contest with a 1-1 record after splitting a pair of road contests against Salem and Shaw. Senior
Tyler Madeira (Schnecksville, Pa./Parkland) scored a pair of goals to lift the Huskies to a 3-1 victory at Salem on Friday. Junior Carter Luckenabaugh added the other tally and then scored Bloomsburg's lone goal at Shaw on Sunday during the Huskies' 2-1 overtime setback. Madeira led the Huskies with 10 goals last season and was an All-PSAC Second Team selection. Meanwhile, Luckenbaugh entered the season with two goals in his first two seasons combined but has doubled his career total through the first two games of the year. Senior
Mike Bazadona III (Kingston, Pa./Wyoming Valley West), junior
Kacper Grycel (Allentown, Pa./Emmaus), and freshman
Stephen Hollis (Holtsville, N.Y./Sachem East) have single assists on the year. In goal, freshman
Nolan Michaels (Independence, Ohio/St. Vincent - St. Mary) has started the first two games of the year and is 1-1 with a 1.42 goals against average and a .500 save percentage.
SCOUTING BLOOMFIELD
The Bears are 0-2 to start the season with losses at American International, 4-2, and against Saint Rose, 3-1, last Thursday and Saturday, respectively. Luis Pinto-Leite, Yusri Benothmane, and Isaac Levi Rodrigues have each scored goals for Bloomfield through the first two games. Robert Kornel has started the first two games in goal and is 0-2 with a 3.50 goals against average and a .462 save percentage. He has allowed seven goals on 13 shots.
