STORYLINE
The Bloomsburg University men's soccer team returns to action on Wednesday afternoon when it travels to Shippensburg to open Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division action. The Huskies have dropped two straight after a season-opening victory at Salem while the Raiders are winless on the young season.

ALL-TIME SERIES
Shippensburg leads the all-time series against Bloomsburg, 27-21-3. Last season, the Raiders earned a 2-1 win over the Huskies at Steph Pettit Stadium. Thomas King (West Chester, Pa./B. Reed Henderson) scored the lone Bloomsburg goal while Brock Gould (York, Pa./Red Lion) stopped two shots in the setback.

SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
Bloomsburg enters the contest with a 1-2 overall record on the season. The Huskies have dropped two straight after a season-opening victory at Salem on September 6. Senior Tyler Madeira (Schnecksville, Pa./Parkland) scored a pair of goals to lift Bloomsburg to its 3-1 victory over the Tigers. Junior Carter Luckenbaugh (York, Pa./Central York) added the other tally and then scored Bloomsburg's lone goal at Shaw two days later during the Huskies' 2-1 overtime setback. Bloomsburg, most recently, suffered a 4-0 loss at Bloomfield last Wednesday. Madeira led the Huskies with 10 goals last season and was an All-PSAC Second Team selection. Meanwhile, Luckenbaugh entered the season with two goals in his first two seasons combined but has doubled his career total through the first three games of the year. Senior Mike Bazadona III (Kingston, Pa./Wyoming Valley West), junior Kacper Grycel (Allentown, Pa./Emmaus), and freshman Stephen Hollis (Holtsville, N.Y./Sachem East) have single assists on the year. In goal, freshman Nolan Michaels (Independence, Ohio/St. Vincent - St. Mary) started the first two games of the year and is 1-1 with a 1.42 goals against average and a .500 save percentage. Redshirt freshman Nathan Slotnick (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) made his first career start at Bloomfield a week ago and turned aside seven shots.

SCOUTING SHIPPENSBURG
Shippensburg is 0-1-1 to start the year with a season-opening 2-2 double-overtime tie against Nyack on September 5 and a 3-0 setback to Goldey-Beacom this past Saturday. The Raiders fell behind 2-0 in the opener before rallying for a tie after second-half goals by Seth Crabbe and Joey Gallucci. Gallucci's goal came with 43 seconds left in regulation. Cory Ferguson and Ben Warner have assists on the year while Bradley Brickman has started both games in goal and is 0-1-1 with a 2.25 goals against average and a .583 save percentage.

UP NEXT
Bloomsburg will finally play its home opener at the friendly confines of Steph Pettit Stadium on Saturday, September 21, when it hosts new PSAC-rival Shepherd University. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
