COMPLETE PSAC RELEASE

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Junior Carter Luckenbaugh (York, Pa./Central York) of the Bloomsburg University men's soccer team has been named to the 2019 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Fall Top 10 Team as chosen by the league's sports information directors. The PSAC Top 10 Awards are designed to recognize ten student-athletes (five female and five male) each season who excel in both the classroom and in athletic competition.

Luckenbaugh becomes the third different student-athlete in program history to receive the award as he joins two-time recipients Bryce Shaffer (2011-12) and Josh Smith (2015-16). He is just the tenth different male student-athlete in school history to claim the distinction.

Initiated in the 1997-98 academic year, the PSAC Top 10 Award is given to five males and five females in each athletic season; fall, winter, and spring. To be a candidate for the PSAC Top 10 Awards, a student-athlete must have achieved a minimum of a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and must be a starter or key reserve with legitimate athletic credentials for their respective team. The fall sports eligible for consideration for the Fall Top 10 Awards are men's and women's cross country, field hockey, football, men's and women's soccer, and women's volleyball.

Off the field, Luckenbaugh has a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.98 while majoring in supply chain management and information technology management. He was named to the United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-East Region First Team for his efforts in the classroom.

On the pitch, Luckenbaugh earned All-PSAC East First Team and United Soccer Coaches All-Atlantic Region Third Team accolades following the 2019 campaign. He paced the Huskies in points as he scored six goals and handed out four assists for 16 points. He tied for the team lead in goals (6) and was second on the team in assists (4). Luckenbaugh started every game and tied for the team lead with a pair of game-winning goals. He scored the game's first goal in a 5-0 win against Shepherd on September 21 and then scored the first goal in the Huskies' 2-0 upset of then-#18 West Chester on October 9. Luckenbaugh had a goal in six different contests and earned at least one point in eight. He also led the team with 14 shots on goal.

The junior midfielder has started every game in his collegiate career (53 games) and has totaled eight goals and 22 assists for 38 points. His six goals and his 16 points in 2019 marked career-bests while his 11 assists as a freshman in 2017 are a career-high and the third-highest single-season total in program history. His 22 career helpers ranks third in the school's record books as he trails only Neil Stoddart's 34 from 1995-98 and Jim Mailey's 32 from 1976-79.

Joining Luckenbaugh on the PSAC Fall Top 10 Team were Mackenzie Fuhrman (Kutztown; field hockey), Deonte Glover (Shepherd; football), Julia Holden (Clarion; women's volleyball), Caitlin Kelly (West Chester; field hockey), Henry Litwin (Slippery Rock; football), Damon Lloyd (IUP; football), Stefanie Parsons (Edinboro; women's cross country), Brittany Ryan (Mansfield; field hockey), and Joseph Westrick (Gannon; men's cross country). It marks the first time, since the initiation of the honor, that the 10 award winners represented 10 different institutions.

After the academic year, all Top 10 Award winners from each season are eligible for the PSAC Pete Nevins Scholar-Athlete of the Year Awards, given to one male and one female candidate.
