SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg men's soccer team snapped its five-game skid with a 4-2 win over Shippensburg University, Wednesday evening. With the win, the Huskies improved to 7-5 on the year and 3-4 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East action. The Raiders fell to 4-4-3 for the season and 2-4 in conference play.

After a scoreless first 24 minutes, the Huskies jumped out to a 3-0 lead with three goals in just over three minutes of action. Sophomore
Liam Harmon (Bloomsburg, Pa./Bloomsburg Area) got things going with his first goal as a Husky at the 24:49 mark thanks to an assist from freshman
Anthony Schlee (Baltimore, Md./Archbishop Curley). It was then Schlee's turn with his third of the year, assisted by junior
Olly Whitham (Clitheroe, Lancashire, England/Settle College) at the 27:50 mark. Just 14 seconds later, sophomore
Alex Wilsterman (Orefield, Pa./Parkland) extended the BU lead to 3-0 with his fourth of th season off a helper from
Mark Lee (Ellicott City, Md./Marriotts Ridge).

The Huskies took the 3-0 lead into halftime as Whithman tried for a goal of his own with less than two to play before the break but was turned away by the Raiders keeper.

Just over five minutes into the second half, Harmon found the back of the net for the second time, again thanks to a Wilsterman assist, on the first shot of the second half to push the Bloomsburg advantage to 4-0.

Shippensburg got one goal back in the 68
th minute to cut the lead to 4-1 before redshirt senior goalie
Nathan Slotnick (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) stopped a penalty kick at the 7239 mark to keep the three-goal lead for Bloomsburg.

With just 32 seconds left, the Raiders cut the lead in half, 4-2, with Seth Crabbe's sixth goal of the season but the Huskies maintained the ball in the final seconds as time ran out for the 4-2 victory.

The Huskies held a 13-11 advantage in shots and both teams put eight shots on net. Slotnick finished with six saves while the Raiders keeper, Ryan Glenlast, made four.

Schlee led the Huskies with three shots while Lee, Wilsterman, Harmon, and Whitham each had a pair.

Bloomsburg continues its road trip on Saturday as the Huskies head to East Stroudsburg for a 7:00 pm PSAC East contest.
