Box Score BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg University women's tennis team dropped its first dual match of the season to a tough West Virginia Wesleyan College team, Friday evening. The Huskies open the dual season 0-1 while the Bobcats improved to 1-0 on the year.

Alexis Quackenbush and Rea Hagishinia took No. 1 doubles 6-2 before
Sarah Capoferri (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) and
Luana Bernardi (Aruja, Sao Paulo, Brazil/Colegio Reino) picked up a quick 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles earn the doubles point for the Huskies.

Hagishima opened singles action with a 6-2, 6-2 win at the No. 1 court. WVW won at No. 6 singles, 6-0, 6-3, and a tiebreak at No. 3 sinlges, 1-6, 6-3, 10-3, to tie the match at 2-2. Quackenbush gave the Huskies a 3-2 lead in the match with a 7-5, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles.

The Bobcats came back and won at No. 5 on a tiebreak, 6-4, 4-6, 10-4, before closing out the match with a 6-4, 7-5 win at No. 4 singles.

"It was a great match all around," remarked head coach
Rebecca Helt. "Very competitive at every court. WVW won a couple of key 10 point breakers to decide the match."

The Huskies get back on the court on Saturday when they host Saint Francis for a 1:00 PM match at Burt Reese Tennis Center.
