INDIANA, PA- The Bloomsburg University Field Hockey team fell to PSAC conference opponent, IUP with a final score of 1-0, Saturday night. With the loss, the Huskies dropped to 7-5, and 1-3 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) play while the Crimson Hawks improved to 8-2 for the season and 3-2 in PSAC action.

The Hawks out-shot the Huskies 7-4 for the game while the Huskies held an 6-1 advantage in penalty corners. Junior
Abby Shaffer (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) made four saves in cage for the Huskies while her Hawks counterpart, Amanda Zaner, made two saves in the win.

Bloomsburg senior
Foto Tsioles (Kingston, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) got a shot on goal just 3:50 into the first period off of a penalty corner by freshman
Kara Koch (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg Area) but was saved by Hawks goalie, Zaner. IUP closed out the first period with three shots in the last five minutes of play. Senior, Abby Saffer had two saves to round out the first period while her counterpart only needed one.

IUP got a shot off just 4 minutes into the second period but was saved by Shaffer. Bloomsburg senior
Kristen Robinson (Palmyra, Pa./Palmyra Area) had a scoring chance in the last minute of the second period to try and break the 0-0 tie but was shot high and took them into the third period.

The only goal of the game came in the third period by IUP, Shelby Harnish and the assist coming from Georgiana Chiavacci with 8 minutes remaining.

Carlee Williams (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) led the Huskies with one shot on goal each.

The Huskies are back on the road Wednesday as they take on West Chester University at 4:00 pm PSAC EAST contest.
