BLOOMSBURG, PA- The Bloomsburg University men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East team Millersville University, Saturday evening. With the loss, the Huskies dropped to 6-5 for the year and 2-4 in conference play while the Marauders improved to 7-4 for the year and 3-3 in conference play.

Bloomsburg got the ball rolling early into the game, with the first shot of the game just 26 seconds into play by sophomore
Sammy Ames (Holly Ridge, N.C./Dixon). Ames had an open shot down the middle of the field and an opportunity to put the Huskies ahead early, but the shot was high. Ames put another hard shot on goal just 18 minutes into play with hopes of bringing the Huskies to a lead but hit the cross bar. Millersville answered with a shot of its own just two minutes later but was unable to find the goal as the shot went wide.

Bloomsburg senior goalkeeper,
Nathan Slotnick (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) had his first save of the night as Millersville Anthony Calamia took a shot on goal 24 minutes into play. Slotnick closed out the half with three additional saves as the Marauders put up three shots on goal in the last 10 minutes of play.

The Huskies and the Marauders had to settle with a tied score of 0-0 to close out the first half.

Freshman
Anthony Schlee (Baltimore, Md./Archbishop Curley) had a breakaway just 2 minutes into the second half and a chance to put the Huskies on the board. Schlee fought passed two defenders and maneuvered the ball around the goalie but put the shot just wide, to the right of the goal. Millersville goalie, Bobby Bosch got his second and final save of the night as Bloomsburg senior,
Kacper Grycel (Allentown, Pa./Emmaus) put a shot on goal.

Millersville Calamia got the only goal of the night just 13 minutes remaining in the game with the assist coming from Spencer Shortt to give the Marauders a 1-0 lead against the Huskies.

Millersville held a narrow 8-7 advantage in shots and a 5-4 in corner kicks. Bloomsburg goalie
Nathan Slotnick (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) made five saves in net for the Huskies wile Bosche finished with two saves.

Ames and Grycel led the team with two shots each while Harmon and Schlee took one.

The Huskies are back on the road Wednesday as they take on Shippensburg University at 7:00 pm PSAC EAST contest.
