LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Bloomsburg University football team placed three players on the 2021 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East All-Conference teams, as announced by the league office Wednesday afternoon. Redshirt senior
AJ Simon (Tobyhanna, Pa./Pocono Mountain West) and junior
Quentin Gaskill (Waynesboro, Pa./Waynesboro) earned first-team honors, while freshman
Kaleb Monaco (Pocono Pines, Pa./Pocono Mountain West) earned second-team honors for the Huskies.

The all-conference honors were the first of their career for all three Huskies.

Simon was named an All-PSAC East First Team Defensive Lineman, while Gaskill earned All-PSAC East First Team honors as a defensive back. Monaco picked up All-PSAC Second Team accolades as a running back.

Simon was the leading pass rusher for Bloomsburg this season and led the team with 19.0 tackles for loss for 76 yards and led the team and conference with 9.5 sacks for 51 yards. Simon had a pair of quarterback hurries, and a pass break up as well. Simon forced three fumbles this season and blocked an extra point that Gaskill returned for two points against Shepherd. Simon was credited with the TFL and safety against California University of Pennsylvania to end the season. Simon finished the season third on the team with 62.0 total tackles.
Gaskill led the team and was third in the PSAC with 89 total tackles for the season. He posted 53 solo tackles for the season and had 3.5 tackles for a loss of 10 yards. He had 1.0 sack for four yards to his credit as well. Gaskill had one interception, broke up three passes, led the team with three fumble recoveries, and forced three fumbles on the year. He returned the blocked point-after attempt by Simon against Shepherd for 98 yards and two points for the Huskies.

Monaco burst on the scene in his first season with the Huskies. He earned second-team All-PSAC accolades after rushing for a team-best 707 yards on 133 carries. He had one rushing touchdown this season and averaged 5.3 yards per carry. Monaco averaged 70.7 rushing yards per game and had three 100-yard rushing games. He rushed for 103 yards against West Chester and caught one pass for 26 yards while running for 103 against East Stroudsburg with one touchdown. He ended his season with 163 yards on the ground on 22 carries in the Huskies' 38-35 win over Millersville. Monaco also returned kicks for the Huskies and had a team-best 372 return yards on 15 returns. He averaged 24.8 yards per return and had a season-long 63-yard return against Kutztown. He finished sixth in rushing in the PSAC and seventh in kick returns.
