BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - The Bloomsburg University women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision against visiting West Chester University on Wednesday afternoon at the Burt Reese Tennis Center. The Huskies dropped to 2-3 overall and 2-3 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division while the Golden Rams improved to 5-2 overall and 3-0 in league action.

West Chester won all three doubles matches to take a 1-0 advantage heading into singles action. Freshman Anna Chikhalenko (Birmingham, Mich./Wylie F. Groves) and senior Devon DiCampli (Broomall, Pa./Marple Newtown) had the best showing on the court in doubles as the duo dropped a 6-4 decision at #3 against Leandra Roelker and Shannon Nixon.

"West Chester has a solid team and we didn't have a strong start in doubles," said Bloomsburg University head coach, Rebecca Helt. "We were able to get a little momentum going in singles, but West Chester was just the better team today."

The Golden Rams won all six singles matches, in straight sets, to complete the sweep of the Huskies. Senior Taylor Capoferri (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) dropped a hard-fought 7-5, 6-3 contest against Tori Alexander at #1 in the closest match of the day in singles. It was Capoferri's first singles setback of the season.

Bloomsburg is scheduled to hit the courts against on Friday, April 16, when it travels to Shepherd University to square off against the Rams. Action gets underway at 2:00 p.m.
