BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg University women's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to non-conference opponent, Jefferson University, Monday afternoon at the Burt Reese Tennis Center. The Huskies fell to 3-3 overall while the Rams improved to 5-5 for the season.
 
The Rams claimed the doubles point with a win at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles, but sisters graduate student Taylor Capoferri (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) and sophomore Sarah Capoferri (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) closed out the doubles matches with a 7-6 win at No. 1.
 
Senior picked up the Huskies first win in singles action as she won No. 6 singles with a score of 7-5, 6-0. Taylor Capoferri (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) earned a win at No. 1 singles as well. Despite dropping the first set, 6-3, she earned a default win after going up 4-1 in the second set.
 
"Our women played very well today," remarked head coach Rebecca Helt. "We're missing quite a few players from the team today, but they've stepped up and I think we're taking good momentum into the PSAC championship this Saturday."
 
The Huskies will wrap up their regular season play tomorrow, April 20, as they head to Lock Haven University for a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) match beginning at 4:00 pm. The PSAC tournament will begin on Saturday, April 24.
