BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The 10
th-ranked Bloomsburg University field hockey team rolled to its fifth-straight win as they defeated Seton Hill 8-1 to open Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) play, Tuesday afternoon. With the win, the Huskies improved to 5-2 on the year and 1-0 in the PSAC while the Griffins dropped to 1-6 for the season and start conference play 0-1.

Sophomore
Alicia Carr (Shickshinny, Pa./Wyoming Seminary) led the offensive explosion for the Huskies as she posted her first-career hat trick, scoring three of Bloomsburg's first four goals of the game. Carr got the scoring going just 2:42 into action as she collected the rebound off of a shot and put it just out of the goalie's reach. Senior
Arden Morgans (Mountain Top, Pa./Crestwood) pushed the Huskies' lead to 2-0 just over five minutes later thanks to an assist from freshman Kelly Koch. Carr capped the three-goal first with her sixth of the year with less than a minute to play in the quarter.

Mikayla Barrow (Hatfield, Pa./North Penn) extended the Bloomsburg lead to 4-0 five and half minutes into the second quarter as the Huskies controlled the pace of play. The Griffins did get one back with less than five to play before halftime to cut the lead to 4-1.

Carr completed her hat trick 3:15 into the third with her seventh of the year thanks to an assist from freshman
Aydan McFarland (Bloomsburg, Pa./Bloomsburg Area). McFarland got on the board herself just over two minutes later with her first career goal as a Husky. McFarland dished out an assist on the final two goals of the game as she added a helper to Morgans second goal of the game and the assist on freshman
Emily Swineford's (Mt. Pleasant Mills, Pa./Selinsgrove Area) first career goal.

As a team, the Huskies out-shot the Griffins 27-3 and led 18-4 in penalty corners. Junior
Abby Shaffer (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) made one save in the first 30 minutes while graduate student
Dana Sheply (Maple Shade, N.J./Maple Shade) made a save in the final 30 minutes.

The Huskies put their five-game winning streak on the line on Sunday as they travel to the University of New Haven for a 2:00 pm game.
