BLOOMSBURG, Pa - The Bloomsburg University men's soccer team is currently ranked #22 in the latest United Soccer Coaches Division II Top-25 national poll, as released on Tuesday. The Huskies are currently 6-0 on the season.
The Huskies are off to a blistering start to their 2021 campaign as they have won their first six contests and out-scored opponents 13-5 over that stretch. As a team, they have posted a pair of shutouts and are out-shooting their competition 60-47.
Freshman
Anthony Schlee (Baltimore, Md./Archbishop Curley) is leading the offensive charge for the Huskies with a team-best seven points behind a pair of goals and three assists. Graduate student
Olly Whitham (Clitheroe, Lancashire, England/Settle College) leads the team with four assists and has added one goal this season. Sophomore
Alex Wilsterman (Orefield, Pa./Parkland) has a team-best three goals on just four shots for the year. The Huskies have gotten their game-winning goal from six different players over the course of the year, including an overtime winner against Holy Family from senior
Salvatore Ficarotta (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) and a double-overtime thriller from sophomore
Mark Lee (Ellicott City, Md./Marriotts Ridge).
Senior
Nathan Slotnick (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) is enjoying a career-year for the Huskies in goal. He has a 0.79 goals against average and a 0.762 save percentage in 570:46 minutes of action. Slotnick has a pair of shutouts this season which ties his career-high from 2019.
The Huskies look to put their six-game winning streak on the line today as they welcome East Stroudsburg University to Steph Pettit Stadium for a 4:30 pm Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East contest.
