LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Bloomsburg University women's soccer team rolled to its third-straight shutout victory against a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East opponent as the Huskies defeated Lock Haven University, 2-0, Saturday morning. With the win, the Huskies improved to 5-2-1 for the year and 4-1-1 in conference play. The Bald Eagles drop to 2-3-1 for the year and 0-3-1 in conference action.

After playing a nearly scoreless first half, freshman
Brooke Foster (Cherry Hill, N.J./Camden Catholic) struck first for the Huskies in the 43
rd minute. After a misplay by the Bald Eagles goalie, Foster was in position to control the ball and finished a shot inside the near post for her third goal of the season and 1-0 lead for BU.

Sophomore keeper
Alexa Ryan's (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus) defense kept her protected in the first half as LHU was unable to put a shot on target in the first half. The Bald Eagles only took one shot in the first 45 while the Huskies too 13 shots and put three on net.

Bloomsburg wasted no time in putting pressure on the Lock Haven defense to start the second half as senior
Helen Flynn (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) got a pair of shots off in the first five minutes of action but the LHU goalie Kylie Auman made a pair of stops to keep it a one-goal game.

The Bald Eagles finally had a shot on goal in the 78
th minute but Ryan was position perfectly to make the save and keep her shutout intact.

Foster put the game away with her second goal of the game, this timing coming off an assist from senior
Paige Harris (Danville, Pa./Danville Area). Harris put a dangerous cross into the box for Foster who finish inside the far post for her fourth goal of the year and 2-0 Bloomsburg lead.

Junior
Campbell Power (Souderton, Pa./Souderton Area) took the final shot of the game with just under four minutes to play but her attempt went out left and the Huskies walked away with the 2-0 win.

The Huskies led 29-2 in shots, including a 13-1 advantage in shots on goal. Bloomsburg also led 8-2 in corner kicks and had all six corners of the second half. Auman made 11 saves for the Bald Eagles, including nine in the second half while Ryan needed just one stop for her fourth shutout of the season.

The Huskies return to action next Wednesday when they welcome Kutztown University to Steph Pettit Stadium for a 7:00 pm PSAC East contest.
