LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Bloomsburg University men's soccer's Nathan Slotnick (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) brought home the first weekly Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East honor for the Huskies as he was named the PSAC East Defensive Player of the Week. Slotnick led the Huskies to a 2-0 week to open the season.

Slotnick had a 1.00 GAA between the two games with six saves and a 75% save percentage.

Slotnick posted four saves in the 2-1 win over Mercyhurst Sunday afternoon. With less than five minutes to play in regulation, Slotnick made a save sandwiched around a pair of blocked shots to keep the Lakers from tying the game and preserve his second win of the week.

In the season-opening win, Slotnick made a pair of saves against Goldey-Beacom, both coming in the second half. Slotnick made a stop with just under 19 minutes play to keep it a one-goal game before junior Olly Whitham (Clitheroe, Lancashire, England/Settle College) scored in the 80^th minute to tie it.

Bloomsburg gets back on the road on Wednesday as the Huskies travel to St. Thomas Aquinas College for a 3:30 PM non-conference contest.
