BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg volleyball team dropped a 3-0 match to conference-leading Shepherd University 3-0 Saturday afternoon. The Huskies fell to 5-20 and 3-9 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East action, while the Rams improved to 18-6 and 9-2 in PSAC East play.

Before the match, Bloomsburg honored its six graduating student-athletes as
Sydney Buell (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury),
Julia Burcin (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty),
Brooke Kratzer (Allentown, Pa./Parkland),
Sarah Mace (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Basil Academy),
Bryn Stek (Ambler, Pa./Upper Dublin), and
Shayna Warfel (Lancaster, Pa./Penn Manor) played in their final match at Nelson Field House.

After a back-and-forth first, the Rams came away with a 25-22 win to open the match. Shepherd cruised to a 25-12 win in the second and closed the game with a 25-22 win in the third.

As a team, the Huskies hit .104 for the match, with 32 kills and 20 errors on 115 attempts. Bloomsburg had double-digit kills in the first and third set, with 13 and 12, respectively.

Graduate student
Sydney Buell (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) led the attack for the Huskies with eight kills, while freshman
Emma Antigua (Kimball, Minn./Kimball) had seven, and senior
Shayna Warfel (Lancaster, Pa./Penn Manor) finished the day with five.

Senior
Brooke Kratzer (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) dished out a team-leading 14 assists, while fellow senior
Bryn Stek (Ambler, Pa./Upper Dublin) had 11 for the day. Kratzer added a pair of service aces and 12 digs as well. Freshman
Hannah Robson (Charlotte, N.C./Arborbrook) finished the day with 14 digs and two aces.

Mikaylah Hoy led all players with 16 kills, while Joi Fairweather had 15. Victoria Nicholes dished out 35 assists for the Rams. Shepherd hit .294 as a team, with 46 kills and 11 errors on 119 attempts for the match.
The Huskies hit the road for their final two matches of the season next week. Bloomsburg travels to East Stroudsburg on Friday, November 4, for a 7:00 p.m. match before heading to Kutztown for a 2:00 p.m. game on November 5.
