Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg University women's tennis team went 1-1 over the weekend as the Huskies defeated Frostburg State University 4-0 on Saturday in Hershey but fell to Rider University 6-1 on Sunday.
 
The Huskies cruised in their 4-0 win against the Bobcats. BU won all three doubles matches to clinched the doubles point. Isabella Sarquis (Belo Horizonte, Brazil/Metodo) and Alese Rinker (/) rolled to a 6-0 win at No. 3 doubles while Rea Hagishima (Tokyo, Japan/Meguro Nihon University High School) and Sarah Capoferri (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) won 6-2 at No. 1 and Luana Bernardi (Aruja, Sao Paulo, Brazil/Colegio Reino) and Lexi Quackenbush (Pittsburgh, PA/Fox Chapel) won 6-2 at No. 2 doubles.
 
Quackenbush won handily at No. 3 singles with a 6-1, 6-1 victory while Capoferri won at No. 4 singles 6-1, 6-0. After falling behind 2-6 in the first set at No. 2, Anna Chikhalenko (Birmingham, Mich./Wylie F. Groves) came back to win 6-0, 6-0 in the final two sets for the fourth and clinching win on Saturday.
 
After falling behind 1-0 following doubles play, the Huskies got on the board as Quackenbush took down Avery Oppenheim at No. 3 singles, 6-3, 6-2. The Broncos won the final two matches at No. 6 and No. 1 singles to close out the 6-1 win. Hagishima gave Leila Koster all she could handle at No. 1 as she took the dropped the first set 6-4 but rebounded for a 6-4 win in set two to tie the match. Koster took the tie break 10-7.
 
The Huskies open Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action on Saturday as they travel to Millersville University for a 1:00 pm match.
