BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – Before the opening draw, the Bloomsburg University lacrosse team celebrated its five graduating seniors for their hard work over the last four+ seasons. After the draw, it was all Huskies as BU rolled to a 19-7 win over Shippensburg University Saturday.

Abby Kalish (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley),
Kelsey Kilgallon (Spring City, Pa./Owen J. Roberts), and Caitlan Leap for their dedication and perseverance through the last four+ seasons the Huskies.

Just 1:42 into action,
Amanda Stoll (Farmingdale, N.Y./Farmingdale) gave the Huskies a 1-0 lead before Kalish took advantage of a man-up opportunity to score her 26
th goal of the season on a free position shot at the 10:49 mark. After the Raiders got one back, the Huskies rattled off four straight to take a 6-1 lead.
Haley Williams (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) kicked off the run with her 15
th of the year while Kilgallon, Stoll, and
Maya Fulmer (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) all found the back of the net. Hannah Seifried ended the quarter with her first of the game to cut the BU lead to 6-2 at the first break.

Kelsey Clauss (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill West) opened the second quarter with a goal just 1:25 into action before Bailey Krahl made it a 7-3 game. At that point, the Huskies took over and out-scored the Raiders 5-0 in the final 11:53 of the first half. Fulmer found the back of the net for the second time in the game while Kilgallon and
Annie Rollins (Shamong, N.J./Seneca) added a strike, and
Kate Roberts (Lehman, Pa./Lake Lehman) hit back-to-back shots in the middle of the run.

Bloomsburg carried a 12-3 lead into halftime.

The Raiders avoided falling behind by 10 as Seifried and Jamie Carvin scored back-to-back goals to open the third and cut the BU lead to 12-5. With 6:06 to play, Roberts scored her third, this time thanks to an assist from Clauss to push the Huskies' lead back to eight, 13-5. Kilgallon got the Huskies back up by nine, 14-5, with 3:26 to play, but the Raiders closed out the quarter with a pair of unanswered goals to cut the BU lead in half, 14-7, with 15 minutes left in regulation.

Bloomsburg out-scored the Raiders 5-0 in the final quarter to complete the season series sweep of Shippensburg. Kalish kicked things off in the fourth with her 27
th season, and Williams gave the Huskies a 16-7 lead with 9:35 to play. Stoll pushed the Huskies' advantage to 10 goals with a good free position shot at the 5:44 mark before Roberts gave Bloomsburg a little breathing room with an 11-goal advantage, 18-7, with 4:14 to play. Roberts capped the scoring with her 22
nd goal of the season with 3:19 to play, and the Huskies' defense caused a pair of turnovers in the final minutes of the game to seal the 19-7 win.
Kilgallon led all players with six points behind four goals and two assists, while Roberts finished the day with four goals. Stoll posted four points behind three goals and an assist. Kalish won a team-best seven draw controls, and Stoll caused a team-best seven turnovers and picked up four ground balls. Williams finished the day with a pair of goals and a team-best six ground balls, while Biehl collected four and caused one turnover.

Lauren Foley (Schwenksville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) made nine saves in the win for the Huskies as she continues to have a standout freshman season. Â

The Huskies improved to 6-3 in conference play and sit comfortably in third with three conference games left on the schedule. The Huskies visit Millersville University on Tuesday, April 19 at 4:00 pm before returning home on April 23 against West Chester. Before and during the game against West Chester, the Huskies will honor and celebrate the life of Georgia Carinci, former Bloomsburg lacrosse standout who lost her battle to breast cancer last year.
