MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – The Bloomsburg University lacrosse team's comeback attempt fell just short as Millersville University hung on for a 17-11 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East win, Tuesday afternoon.
 
The Huskies out-scored Millersville 9-5 in the second half but the Marauders' 12-2 lead after the first half was too much to overtake.
 
Trailing 13-2 early in the third quarter, 
Kelsey Kilgallon (Spring City, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) got the Huskies on the board to make it a 10-goal game, 13-3 with 9:21 to play. Gillian Zimmerman answered with her sixth of the game to push the lead back to 14-3 before Kilgallon, 
Kate Roberts (Lehman, Pa./Lake Lehman), and 
Madison Coyle (Williamstown, N.J./Williamstown) scored three unanswered goals to close out the quarter and cut the deficit to 14-6 going into the final period.
 
The Marauders scored the first two goals of the fourth quarter before Roberts found the back of the net for the second time in the game with 9:01 to play in regulation. 
Haley Williams (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) cut the lead to 16-8 with 17
th of the season before 
Abby Kalish (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) got on the board with her 28
th goal this year at the 6:31 mark. Zimmerman halted the Bloomsburg run to extend the Marauders' lead to 17-9 but 
Amanda Stoll (Farmingdale, N.Y./Farmingdale) and 
Annie Rollins (Shamong, N.J./Seneca) closed out the game with two-straight goals but the Huskies ran out of time as Millersville hung on for the 17-11 win.
 
Trailing 5-0 in the first quarter, Roberts scored the game's first goal for BU with 39 seconds left on the clock. 
Kelsey Clauss (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill West) scored the only goal of the quarter for Bloomsburg with a strike at with 1:40 left before halftime.
 
Millersville out-shot Bloomsburg 31-23 and won the draw control battle, 20-12.
 
Kilgallon led the team with three points before two goals and an assist while Roberts scored three times. Stoll won a team best four draw controls and Kalish grabbed two – including her 100
th career DC.
 
Kalish led the team with three caused turnovers and had three ground balls.
 
Lauren Foley (Schwenksville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) played all 60 minutes in cage and made 10 saves.
 
The Huskies return to action on Saturday in a key PSAC East games at Steph Petit Field against West Chester University. The opening draw is set for 1:00 pm.
