RUTHERFORD, N.J. – In a game highlighted by defense, it would only take one score to decide the victor in Saturday's non-conference men's soccer game between Bloomsburg and Felician.
Despite a great effort by the Huskies defense and goalkeeper
Brady Rimple (Cherryville, Pa./Northampton Area), a score by Felician's Henry Calix in the 67
th minute lifted the Golden Falcons to a 1-0 win as the home team handed Bloomsburg its first loss of the 2022 season.
Felician finished the game with a total of 12 shots, six of which were on target. Rimple stopped five of those shots as he racked up five important saves that kept Bloomsburg in the game throughout the contest.
The Huskies offense put up seven shots in the contest by six different players, but none were able to find the back of the net as Felician goalkeeper Uche Santschi came up with two saves for the two shots Bloomsburg but on goal.
Bloomsburg did hold the advantage in corner kicks, taking eight opposed Felician's seven.
A total of six yellow cards were distributed in the game. Bloomsburg had four and Felician had two.
The Huskies will begin play in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference's Eastern Division with their next contest, which will be a road game at Lock Haven (2-4, 0-1 PSAC East) on Wednesday. The game will kick off at 7:30 PM.
