BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg University women's tennis team fell to Chestnut Hill College, 7-0, Wednesday afternoon.
Luana Bernardi (Aruja, Sao Paulo, Brazil/Colegio Reino) had a strong match at No. 4 singles. Bernardi opened the match with a 6-2 win in the opening set but her opponent, Annika Wise took the second 6-3 to force a tiebreak and won 10-4 in the final set.
Jen McDonald (Melbourne, Australia/Brentwood Secondary College) forced a tie break at No. 5 singles. After dropping the first set, 6-0, McDonald rebounded for a 6-3 win in set two. Romi Meirovich closed out the match with a 10-4 win in th tie break.
McDonald and
Lexi Quackenbush (Pittsburgh, PA/Fox Chapel) had a strong opening to the match with a 7-5 loss at No. 2 doubles.
The Huskies are back in action on Friday when they host the
2022 Atlantic Region ITA Championships.
