LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Bloomsburg University volleyball team dropped a hard-fought 3-2 match to Lock Haven University, Friday evening. The Huskies fell to 2-10 while the Bald Eagles improved to 1-11.
 
The Bald Eagles took the first set 25-22 before Bloomsburg rebounded for a 25-19 win in the second set. The Huskies took a 2-1 set lead with a 25-15 win in the third. Lock Haven came and won the fourth set 25-13 before closing out the win with a 15-12 win in the final game.
 
Senior Shayna Warfel (Lancaster, Pa./Penn Manor) led the team with nine kills while graduate student Sydney Buell (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) finished with eight kills. Buell hit .353 for the match as she had just two errors on 17 attempts and eight kills in four sets. Freshman Emma Antigua (Kimball, Minn./Kimball) finished the match with seven kills and eight digs.
 
Defensively, Maura Uschock (Irwin, Pa./Hempfield) led the team with 13 digs while junior Aydan Espinal (Rock Hill, S.C./Rock Hill) finished the day with 12 digs. Espinal dished out 25 assists and had five kills in the five sets.
 
Allison Saalfrank (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) and Bryn Stek (Ambler, Pa./Upper Dublin) each had a pir of service aces for the day.
 
As a team, the Huskies hit 0.048 for the match with 35 kills and 29 errors on 126 attempts. Bloomsburg posted eight aces a team and had 10.0 total blocks. The Huskies had 53 digs as a team.
 
The Huskies return to the hardwood on Tuesday, September 20 as they welcome Chestnut Hill to Nelson Field House for a 6:00 pm match.
