WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The Bloomsburg men's basketball team fell to West Chester, 102-73, in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East action, Saturday afternoon. The Huskies dropped in 1-17 on the year and 1-13 in conference action while the Golden Rams improved to 14-6 and 9-5 in the PSAC.

Louie Wild (Philadelphia, PA/Roman Catholic) led the Huskies with 19 points behind a 7-for-15 day from the field. Wild finished 4-for-8 from beyond the arc and was 1-for-2 from the free throw line. He dished out a career-best eight assists to go with his four rebounds.
Jake Nelson (West Chester, Pa./West Chester Rustin) was the model of efficiency from the field as he went 8-for-10 and 1-for-1 from three-point range for 18 points. He was 1-for-4 from the free throw line and had a team-best eight rebounds.
Matt Bengel (Erie, Pa./Mercyhurst Prep) finished with 12 points and five assists for the Huskies.

The Huskies shot 46.4% (26-for-56) from the field for the game and were 15-for-31 (48.39%) in the second half. Bloomsburg went 14-for-23 from the free throw line and were 7-for-22 (31.8%) from beyond the arch for the game.

The Rams show 50.7% (36-for-71) from the field and were 12-for-28 from three-point range, including going 10-for-19 from beyond the arc in the first half. West Chester was 18-for-20 from the free throw line.

West Chester finished with six players in double figures, including all five starters. Elijah Allen led the Rams with 16 points.

The Golden Rams won the rebounding battled 43-29 and scored 22 second chance points. West Chester converted the Huskies 20 turnovers into 21 points while the Huskies turned the Golden Rams' 13 turnovers into 13 points.

Bengel scored the game's first bucket with a jumper in the paint at the 19:23 mark before Robert Smith tied the game with a pair of free throws on the Golden Rams' next possession. Kyle McGee gave WCU the lead for good with 19:02 to play in the first with a jumper after grabbing a steal.

The Rams led by as many as 28 in the first half, 52-24, and took a 52-30 lead into halftime.

The Huskies cut the lead to 19, 83-64, with 4:46 to play but West Chester used a 17-5 run over the next 3:46 to take a 31-point lead, 100-69.
Cam Villarouel (Cumming, GA/State College (PA)) ended the game with a pair of free throws to end the game 102-73 in favor of West Chester.

The Huskies begin the second half of their PSAC East schedule as they host Lock Haven on Wednesday, February 1 for a 7:30 p.m. contest at Nelson Field House.
