BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The score changed hands seven times in the last five minutes of regulation. The Huskies had the ball in the final possession, but Millersville hung on for a 60-59 win over Bloomsburg women's basketball Wednesday evening.

The Marauders pushed their lead to 52-49 with 6:08 to play before freshman
Abby Brown (Phillipsburg, N.J./Bethlehem Catholic) grabbed her rebound and finished the layup to cut the lead to 52-51 with 5:10 to play. Sophomore
Lauren Kirsch (Palmyra, PA/Lower Dauphin) hit a jumper at 4:40 to give the lead back to Bloomsburg, 53-52 before Marin Miller hit a three to take the lead for Millersville, 55-53.

Brown hit back-to-back jumpers between 2:49 to 1:49 to give the Huskies a 57-55 lead with less than two minutes to play. Miller answered Brown's jumper with another three at 1:30 before sophomore
Katie Starr (Berwick, PA/Berwick) drove to the basket for a hard layup and the 59-58 lead at 1:08. Makiah Shaw grabbed a defensive rebound after a missed free throw by the Huskies and hit a jumper with 42 seconds to play to give the Marauders the lead for good, 60-59.

Both teams missed three combined jumpers in the next 30 seconds of gameplay before the Huskies could foul with five fouls to give in the quarter. On the fifth team foul, Miller went to the line for Millersville with six seconds to play but missed both free throws, and brown grabbed the rebo9und on the live ball. The Huskies had the ball at their basketball, but Millersville went high-pressure defense, and Bloomsburg couldn't get a shot to fall in the final seconds.

After an even 18-18 first quarter, the Huskies built a 34-27 lead at halftime. Bloomsburg outscored the Marauders 16-9 in the second thanks to a 7-0 by the Huskies in the opening minutes of the quarter. Brown hit a pair of free throws with 1:50 to play to push the Husky lead to nine, 34-25, but Taylor Langan hit a jumper in the quarter's final seconds as the two teams went into halftime with Bloomsburg leading 34-27.

The Marauders came out of the break and outscored the Huskies 21-11 in the third quarter to take a 48-45 lead going into the exciting fourth quarter.

Sophomore
Ella Kale (Spring Grove, PA/Spring Grove) lead the Huskies with 12 points, while Brown finished with 10 points and eight rebounds. Sophomore
Allison Hileman (Hollidaysburg, PA/Hollidaysburg) had nine points and four assists for the Huskies.

The Huskies shot 37.7% (20-for-53) from the field for the game and were 14-for-19 (73.7%) from the free-throw line.

Millersville shot 36.8% (25-for-68) from the field and was 5-for-10 from the free throw line but converted the Huskies' 23 turnovers into 25 points.

The Huskies return to action on Saturday when they travel to Lock Haven at 1:00 p.m. Â
