Women's Soccer Scores Four Unanswered Goals in Victory Over Millersville

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – The Bloomsburg women's soccer team defeated Millersville, 4-1, in an offensive battle on Saturday afternoon.

Millersville (4-4-3, 4-4-2 PSAC East) got on the board early, as Aalivia Wainwright scored in the 9th minute.

Bloomsburg (4-3-4, 4-2-3) quickly responded in the 14th minute when senior Maddie Davis (York, Pa./Central York) launched a free kick from midfield where redshirt-sophomore Sydney Hoover (Davie, Fla./Western) collected the ball before sliding it inside the right post for the equalizer.

The Huskies took the lead just four minutes later as senior Lauren Bull (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) found junior Ellie Rowe (Hetlerville, Pa./Central Columbia) on a through ball where she deposited the go-ahead goal into the right side of the net.

In the second half, the marron and gold continued to apply pressure as freshman Anika Krasnai (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) sent a long cross into the box for junior Kennedy Kilchrist (Southampton, Pa./Villa Joseph Marie). Kilchrist settled the ball with one touch before skillfully placing the ball in the top-left corner. Junior Brooke Foster (Cherry Hill, N.J./Camden Catholic) also received an assist on the play.

Krasnai wasn't done as she scored her first collegiate goal in the 70th minute. After receiving a long through ball on the left side of the box, Krasnai fired a shot into top-right. Bull recorded her second assist of the day with the pass to Krasnai.

Goalkeepers Riley Spingler (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) and Julia Wilbekaitis (Chalfont, Pa./Springside Chestnut Hill Academy) combined for six saves in the Huskies' tenth straight victory against Millersville.

Women's soccer returns to action on Wednesday, October 18th as they travel to Mansfield for a 3 p.m. matchup against the Mounties.
