SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The No. 4 Bloomsburg field hockey team clinched a berth a in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Tournament with a 3-2 win over Slippery Rock on Friday afternoon.

Bloomsburg (14-4, 5-4 PSAC) struck first as
Sam Schaffer (Vestal, N.Y./Vestal) received a pass from
Bella Culp (Dauphin, Pa./Central Dauphin) on the left side to record her fourth goal of the season.

The Huskies extend their lead just under eight minutes later as
Madeline Newman's (Lehman, Pa./Lake-Lehman) pass attempted deflected of a Slippery Rock (4-13, 1-8) stick and into the back of the net.
Lillie Weaver (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) earned an assist on the play.

Three minutes later,
Jessica Serafin (Worcester, Pa./Methacton) collected her own rebound to give the maroon and gold a 3-0 at the end of the first quarter.

SRU netted a goal in the second and third quarter to make it a one-goal game.

The Huskies stood tall defensively in the second half, not allowing a shot in the final 23 minutes of the contest.

Maura Greek (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) earned the start and made two saves in thirty minutes of play.

With the win, Bloomsburg clinched a berth in the 2023 PSAC Tournament and awaits other results from around the conference to determine when and where they will play on Tuesday, October 31.
