Women's Soccer Clinches PSAC Tournament Berth with 2-1 Win Over Lock Haven

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Bloomsburg women's soccer team clinched a spot in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Tournament with a 2-1 victory over Lock Haven on Tuesday night.

Lock Haven (4-12-1, 3-11-1 PSAC East) tested goaltender Alexa Ryan (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus) with the game's first shot in the seventh minute from well outside the box. The shot was tracking for the top-right corner, but Ryan was able to make a spectacular save to keep the game scoreless. Seconds later the Bald Eagles fired one off the woodwork before sending a third shot out of play.

Bloomsburg (7-5-5, 7-4-4) immediately turned the momentum around as Sydney Hoover (Davie, Fla./Western) collected the goal kick before chipping it over the goalkeeper to give the Huskies the early 1-0 lead. The maroon and goal took the lead, along with a 7-4 advantage in shots, into halftime.

In the 67th minute, the Huskies extended the lead on a free kick as Maddie Davis (York, Pa./Central York) found Lauren Bull (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) rushing into the box who headed the ball up and over the goalie.

Lock Haven cut the lead back to just one, but the second half was all Bloomsburg as the Huskies outshout the Bald Eagles 16-3 in the half.

Brooke Foster (Cherry Hill, N.J./Camden Catholic) led the way with six shots, while Kennedy Kilchrist (Southampton, Pa./Villa Joseph Marie) posted five. Olivia Thompson (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) and Lauren Bull (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) each recorded three. Ryan made four saves in the contest.

The Huskies close out the regular season on Friday, November 3 as they host Shippensburg at 3:30 PM.
