Women's Soccer Ends Regular Season With 2-0 Win Against Shippensburg

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg women's soccer team ended the regular season in the win column, defeating Shippensburg 2-0 in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) contest at Steph Pettit Stadium.

Bloomsburg (8-5-5, 8-4-4 PSAC East) outpaced Shippensburg (4-14-0, 4-12-0) from the start, tallying four shots before the Raiders were able to get on of their own.

The first shot on goal in the contest came from Sydney Hoover (Davie, Fla./Western) in the 14th minute, with Morgan Molyneaux making the save.

Senior goalkeeper Alexa Ryan (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus) faced just on shot in the opening half, stopping a header attempt from Maegan Quinn.

As the halftime whistle sounded, the Huskies held an 8-2 advantage in shots.

The maroon and gold continued to test the SU defense, posting five shots in the first 10 minutes of the second half.

In the 60th minute, Ellie Rowe (Hetlerville, Pa./Central Columbia) found Amanda Stoll (Farmingdale, N.Y./Farmingdale) at the top of the box who then deposited the ball just inside the right post to break the deadlock. Stoll's goal was her team-leading fourth of the season.

Bloomsburg extended the lead in the 71st minute as Hoover collected a header from Lauren Bull (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) before chipping it up-and-over Molyneaux and off the post for her third of the season.

The Huskies posted 16 shots in the half, ending the game with 24 shots and limiting Shippensburg to just six shots across 90 minutes of play.

Bloomsburg will be on the road for the first round of the PSAC Tournament on Monday, November 6. The team's opponent and final seeding will be determined by the outcome of the East Stroudsburg-Mansfield game at 7 p.m. Check the Bloomsburg Huskies website for up-to-date information.
