BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg men's basketball team dropped its home opener to Caldwell University, 85-63, on Wednesday night inside Nelson Field House.

Bloomsburg (1-2) and Caldwell (3-0) traded the lead in the early goings of the first half, as either team was unable to pull ahead by more than a possession in the first five minutes. In that time the lead changed six times.

A hot streak for the Cougars gave them a 15-point lead in the middle but the Huskies rallied to outscore Caldwell 13-4 in the final six minutes of the half.

Jake Nelson (West Chester, Pa./West Chester Rustin) scored 11 of Bloomsburg's 29 points in the first half as the maroon and gold trailed by six at halftime.

The Caldwell offense continued to apply pressure in the second half, recording 4 steals in the final 20 minutes en route to victory.

Nelson led the Huskies in scoring with 21 points while shooting 6-for-9 from the floor and 8-for-10 from the line. He fell one rebound short of a double-double, finishing with nine rebounds.

Louie Wild (Philadelphia, PA/Roman Catholic) recorded double-digit points with 11 while posting a trio of assists.
Tony Henderson (Pittsburgh, Pa./Taylor Allderdice) and
Jagger Dressler (Danville, Pa./Danville) both assisted on three baskets in the contest.
Raphael Castillo (Newark, N.J./Morristown Beard) went 3-for-7 from the floor, finishing with eight points
