Men's Soccer | 11/21/2023 12:00:00 PM

GREENWOOD, Ind. - Six Bloomsburg men's soccer team members earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors as announced on Tuesday. The six selections from the Huskies squad are graduate student Stephen Hollis (Holtsville, N.Y./Sachem East), seniors Alex Wilsterman (Orefield, Pa./Parkland) and Brady Rimple (Cherryville, Pa./Northampton Area), juniors Anthony Schlee (Baltimore, Md./Archbishop Curley) and Teagan Wallace (Lumberton, N.J./Rancocas Valley Regional) and sophomore Braden Alicea (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Lower Moreland).

Hollis received his second CSC Academic All-District recognition and is a four-time PSAC Scholar-Athlete and a two-time D2 ADA Scholar-Athlete. The defender became the sixth player in program history to garner three all-conference recognitions and has received PSAC East Athlete of the Week three times in his tenure with the Huskies. Hollis finishes his Bloomsburg with 10 goals and 16 assists for 36 points. The 16 assists place the graduate student in a tie for the fifth-most career assists in program history. He is an exercise science major.

Wilsterman, a criminal justice major, becomes a two-time CSC Academic All-District honoree. The senior is a three-time PSAC Scholar-Athlete and a two-time D2 ADA Scholar-Athlete. The midfielder has been named twice as an All-PSAC East honoree, garnering first-team recognition for the first time this season.

Rimple earned his first CSC Academic All-District distinction. The senior Business Management major has been a consistent presence between the sticks, finishing the year with six shutouts and becoming just the third goalkeeper in team history to have multiple seasons with at least five. Rimple, a D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award and PSAC Scholar-Athlete honoree sits tied for the fourth-most shutouts in a career with 11.

Schlee, Bloomsburg men's soccer's active career points leader with 38 points (15 goals, eight assists), received his first CSC Academic All-District nod. The criminal justice major finished the year as a second-team All-PSAC East honoree and tied for the team lead with five goals. The junior is a two-time PSAC Scholar-Athlete and received the first D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award last season.

Wallace, a junior business management major, receives his first CSC Academic All-District honor after starting all 20 games this season. Wallace is a two-time PSAC Scholar-Athlete, a D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award recipient and earned his first all-conference nod with PSAC East Second Team recognition this season.

A sophomore, Alicea was one of five players to start all 20 games this season for Bloomsburg. The defender scored two goals and had two assists in his second season for the Huskies. Alicea, a Business Finance major, is a one-time PSAC Scholar-Athlete.

The Huskies wrapped up the 2023 season 11-4-5, marking consecutive 10-win seasons for the program since 2014 and 2015 while making back-to-back PSAC Tournament appearances since that stretch. Bloomsburg made its third-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament field (1978, 2014), earning the first national postseason victory with a 2-1 win over Southern New Hampshire.

The 2023 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA — for each gender.

To be eligible, a student-athlete must have a 3.50 cumulative GPA and be a starter or significant reserve – playing in at least 90 percent or starting in at least 66 percent of the team's contests.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second-, and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December. The CSC Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed on the following pages.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2023-24 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.
