BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg men's basketball team battled Gannon in a high-scoring Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) contest, falling 128-113 inside Nelson Fieldhouse on Friday afternoon.
Bloomsburg (2-3, 0-1 PSAC) got its first taste of the fast-paced Gannon (6-0, 1-0 PSAC) offense in the first three minute of the game, as the Golden Knights jumped out to an 18-7 lead.

As the Huskies began to adjust to the speed of the game, an and-one from
Raphael Castillo (Newark, N.J./Morristown Beard) with just over five minutes remaining ignited a 15-5 run late in the half. Castillo recorded eight of Bloomsburg's points during the stretch.

Louie Wild (Philadelphia, PA/Roman Catholic) beat the buzzer with a fastbreak three-pointer, sending the Huskies into the locker room trailing the nation's highest-scoring offense, 68-57.

Jake Nelson (West Chester, Pa./West Chester Rustin) opened the scoring in the second half with a layup as
Raphael Castillo (Newark, N.J./Morristown Beard) recorded the assist. The trio of Nelson, Castillo and
Matt Bengel (Erie, Pa./Mercyhurst Prep) combined for the first 19 points of the second half for the maroon and gold.

Gannon hit the century mark for the fourth time this season with a Lyle Tipton three-pointer with nine and a half minute remaining in the game.

A triple from
DJ Gordon (Pittsburgh, Pa./First Love Christian Academy) at the 4:28 mark put the Huskies at 102 points, the first time Bloomsburg has hit triple-digits at home since January 25, 2020 in a 102-89 victory over West Chester.

Despite the best efforts of the Huskies, the Golden Knights came out victorious, 128-113.

Bengel lead the Huskies with a season-high 28 points, shooting 12-of-16 from the floor. He recorded three assists and three steals.

Castillo was nearly perfect on the day after draining 6-of-7 shots, including a perfect 3-for-3 from the beyond the arc. He recorded team-highs in both rebounds and assists, finishing with eight and six respectively.

Wild registered a trio of triples en route to a 16-point night, while Nelson posted 13 in the second half to finish with 15 points and seven rebounds.

Sean Hoz drained a career-high four three-pointers, while
Travis Elmore' (Tobyhanna, Pa./Pocono Mountain West) nine points moves him to within 37 points of the 1,000-point club.

The Huskies return to action on Saturday, December 2 as they host Clarion at 3 p.m.
