KANSAS CITY, Mo. – A season of tremendous individual acclaim for Kody Besser (Lacey Township, N.J./Lacey Township) continued as the sophomore defender earned a spot on the DII United Soccer Coaches All-Atlantic Region Second Team as announced on Tuesday.

The honor is the 31st all-time from a coaches association and is the first since Carter Luckenbaugh in 2019. The second team designation is the highest received by a Husky and the first for a defender since 2015.

The Lacey Township, N.J. native finished the 2023 season tied for the team lead in points (11) and goals (5) and helped Bloomsburg to back-to-back double-digit win seasons and PSAC Tournament appearances since 2014 and 2015. Anchoring the backline, Besser guided the Huskies to their third-ever NCAA Tournament appearance, scoring the game-winning goal in Bloomsburg's first win in the tournament in program history.

In addition to the United Soccer Coaches distinction, Besser garnered second-team D2CCA All-Region recognition, earned a spot on the All-PSAC East First Team and won PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Week twice this season.
