BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – Four women's basketball players were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District teams as Emma Gochnauer (Strasburg, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg), Allison Hileman (Hollidaysburg, PA/Hollidaysburg), Ella Kale (Spring Grove, PA/Spring Grove) and Lauren Kirsch (Palmyra, PA/Lower Dauphin) all earned the accolade on Tuesday.

All four players have excelled in the classroom and on the court for the Huskies during the duration of the 2022-23 season. To be eligible to make the CSC Academic All-District Team, a student-athlete must have a 3.50 cumulative GPA and be a starter or significant reserve – playing in at least 50% of the team's contests.

Gochnauer leads the team in total assists (56) and total steals (23) while also being second on the team in scoring (9.3 PPG) and rebounding (117 total). This year, the junior has finished in double figures 12 different times and that includes a 23-point game against Kutztown on Jan. 25.

Hileman is team's leading three-point shooter as she leads the squad in total three pointers made (41) and three-point percentage (.406). Additionally, Hileman is fourth on the team in scoring (6.7 PPG) and has appeared in all 24 games so far this season.

Kirsch has also appeared in all 24 games and has provided the Huskies with a spark as being a player who can score in bunches. Kirsch is second on the team in total three-pointers made (35) and ranks fifth on the team in scoring (6.4 PPG,) and the sophomore has finished in double figures in three of Bloomsburg's last six games, which includes a 28-point performance against Shepherd on Feb. 11.

Kale has started all 24 games for Bloomsburg so far this season and her role consists of running the team's offense as the point guard, which is exemplified by her 46 assists this season (2nd on team). The sophomore guard also ranks second on the team in total steals (20) to go along with 7.4 points per game, which ranks third on the team. Kale has finished in double figures six different times this year.

The 2022-23 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Basketball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA — for each gender.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in mid March.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.
