MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – The Bloomsburg softball team dropped a doubleheader to Mount Olive on the first day of the Huskies' spring break trip, Saturday. Mount Olive won 4-0 in the first game and capped the doubleheader win with a 16-0 five inning win in the second game.

The Trojans took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the third on three hits and the Huskies got their first hit in the top of the four as freshman
Taylor Welsh (Pottsville, Pa./Pottsville) singled to right field but Mount Olive got out the frame unscathed.

Mount Olive added another in the bottom of the fourth and sixth for the 4-0 win.
Kammy Kropinski (Conshohocken, Pa./Plymouth-Whitemarsh) drew a walk in the top of the seventh and advanced to second on a wild pitch but a fly out down the left field line ended the game for the Trojans.

Callie Sowers (Irwin, Pa/Hempfield Area) took the loss for the Huskies after tossing 6.0 innings and allowing four runs on nine hits and striking out seven Trojans.

Kayleigh Lenner (Sunbury, Pa./Shikellamy), Welsh, and
Emma Little (Pittsburgh, Pa./Penn-Trafford) all collected a hit for BU.

In the second game, Lenner led off the game with a single to third but after two-straight fielder's choices, the Trojans got out of the inning with a ground out.
Mount Olive jumped out to a 3-0 lead with three runs in the bottom of the first. Both teams went scoreless in the second but the Trojans broke open the game with 12 runs on seven hits. The Trojans also benefited from five hit by pitches. Mount Olive added a run in the bottom of the fourth to push its lead to 16-0.

Taylor Kranzley (Northampton, Pa./Northampton) led off the top of the fifth with a single to left field but the Trojans got three-straight outs to close out the 16-0 win.

Lillian Gray (New Bedford, Mass./New Bedford) took the loss for the Huskies after 2.0 innings pitched. Lenner and Kranzley each had a hit for the Huskies.

Bloomsburg looks to rebound on Monday as the Huskies continue their Spring Break trip at the University of Tampa. The Huskies and Spartans get underway at 5:00 p.m. in Tampa, Fla.
