BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg lacrosse team fell to visiting Southern New Hampshire University, 17-10, in the first-ever meeting between the two teams, Sunday afternoon. The Huskies dropped to 3-2 on the year while the Penmen improved to 4-0.

SNHU jumped out to an early 2-0 lead but
Cassidy Griffin (Lake Grove, N.Y./Sachem North) kicked out a 3-0 run for the Huskies to give BU a 3-2 lead with 6:31 to play.
Annie Rollins (Shamong, N.J./Seneca) found Griffin for the Huskies' first goal before connecting with
Madison Coyle (Williamstown, N.J./Williamstown) to tie the game 2-2 with 6:46 to play.
Amanda Stoll (Farmingdale, N.Y./Farmingdale) won the next draw and went straight to the cage to give BU a 3-2 lead.

The Penmen rattled off five-straight goals to end the first and kick off the second quarter to re-take the lead, 7-3. Playing a man-up,
Kate Roberts (Lehman, Pa./Lake Lehman) took advantage of a mismatch and found the back of the net for the 10
th time this season thanks to an assist from Griffin with 4:55 to play. The Penmen had a man-up advantage of their own and Skylar Renaud scored twice in a minute of game play to push the SNHU lead back to 9-4 with 3:01 to play in the half.

Rollins caused a turnover near midfield with 12 seconds to play in the half and went straight to the cage but was tripped up as she took her initial shot that sailed high. After an SNHU foul and yellow card set up a free position shot for Rollins. She buried her shot with just two seconds left before the break. Stoll won the final draw and the Penmen took a 9-5 lead into halftime.

SNHU opened the third quarter with three-straight goals to push its lead to 12-5 but Coyle and
Kelsey Clauss (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill West) scored back-to-back goals to cut the advantage to five, 12-7, with 6:23 to play in the third. Renaud found the back of the net once more to end the third and Shelby Cole kicked off the fourth for Southern New Hampshire with an unassisted strike to extend the lead to 14-7.

Stoll scored for the second time with 9:44 to play but SNHU answered with three-straight to extend its lead to 17-8 with 3:34 to play. Stoll caused another SNHU turnover with 2:33 to play and quickly got the ball to Roberts. After going most of the field untouched, Roberts buried a shot in front of the net with 2:22 to play to cut the lead to 17-9. Coyle closed out the game with a successful free position goal at the 1:03 mark.

SNHJ won the final draw and ran out the clock for the 17-10 win.

Lauren Foley (Schwenksville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) finished the day with 12 saves including four on free position shots.

Coyle finished with three goals while Roberts and Stoll each had two. Stoll and
Maya Fulmer (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) each had five draw controls and Stoll, Coyle and
Julia LaMura (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth Area) had two caused turnovers.
The Huskies look to get back in the winning column on Wednesday when they open Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East action at Shepherd University. The opening draw is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
