WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The Bloomsburg women's lacrosse team battled the rain and cold as they fell to #1 West Chester University, 16-5, Saturday afternoon. The Huskies dropped to 4-5 on the year and 1-3 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East action while the Golden Rams improved to 8-0 and 4-0 in conference action.

The Huskies jumped out to an early lead as senior
Kelsey Clauss (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill West) took a pass from junior
Amanda Stoll (Farmingdale, N.Y./Farmingdale) and found the back of the net for the ninth time this season with 11:44 to play in the first. Senior
Kate Roberts (Lehman, Pa./Lake Lehman) followed it up with her 22
nd of the year after
Madison Coyle (Williamstown, N.J./Williamstown) won the draw control to give the Huskies a chance to set up their offense.

The Golden Rams got on the board with 8:50 to go in the first as Keri Barnett scored her 17
th of the year. The Golden Rams tied the game at 2-2 with 7:35 to play and took a 5-2 at the end of the first quarter.

Senior
Haley Williams (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) kicked off the third quarter with her eighth goal of the season after a West Chester turnover gave the ball back to Bloomsburg. Breanna Smith pushed the WCU lead back to three with 11:38 to play in the second before freshman
Julia Cote (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus) got an assist from Williams on her ninth of the year with 6:05 to play to make it 6-4 in favor of West Chester.

Coyle cut the lead back to one, 6-5, with 2:00 to play before halftime with her 14
th goa of the year after picking up a ground ball for the Huskies.
West Chester had two final shots on net in the final two minutes of the half but both went wide and the Golden Rams led 6-5 at the break.

The Golden Rams scored five unanswered goals in the third to take an 11-5 lead and added five more in the fourth for the 16-5 win.

Sophomore goalie
Lauren Foley (Schwenksville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) held the Golden Rams to a 4-for-14 day on free position shots, making seven of her 14 saves on FPS.

Williams led the Huskies with a goal and an assist while Coyle won five draw controls to go with her two ground balls and caused turnover. Foley led the Huskies with five ground balls whole Clauss picked up three.

The Huskies continue the road trip as they visit #11 East Stroudsburg on Wednesday for a 2:00 pm PSAC East contest.
