BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - The women's tennis team fell to Millersville by a final tally of 5-2 during a home tennis match Friday at the Burt Reese Tennis Center in Bloomsburg.

The Marauders took the doubles point by winning two of the three doubles matches, then Millersville won four singles matches to win the contest by a score of 5-2. 

In doubles matches, Bloomsburg's Sarah Capoferri (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) and Alese Rinker (/) won the No. 3 doubles match by defeating Kaitlyn Then and Sophie Lanius by a score of 6-3.

During the singles portion of the event, Quackenbush won an exciting match in the No. 1 singles match by defeating Noelle Htwar in three sets. Quackenbush fell in the first set, then rebounded with 6-2 wins in the second and third sets to grab the win. 

Capoferri then won her second match of the day by winning the No. 6 singles match. Capoferri defeated Joanna Newton by a score of 6-2 in the first set and 6-1 in the second set to win the match. 

The Huskies will return to action on Thursday before hosting a pair of matches over the weekend. Bloomsburg hosts Kutztown on Saturday and St. Francis on Sunday.
