PHILADELPHIA – The men's tennis team dropped a road match at Chestnut Hill on Thursday, 7-0.
The Griffins were able to take the doubles points by sweeping the doubles matches, then the squad went 6-0 in singles matches to take the seven-point victory.
The Huskies gave a strong effort in the No. 1 doubles match as
Vishesh Patel (Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India/Asia English School) and
Oliver Wiesemann (Jena, Germany/Deutsche Schule Málaga (Spain)) played tough against Chestnut Hill's Noah Cutting and Antonio Franquis. The Griffins' tandem ultimately won the match by a score of 6-4, however.
Landon Wall (Tabernacle, N.J./Seneca High School) had a solid performance in the No. 5 singles match against Chestnut Hill's Tobi Michel. Michel was able to hold off Wall for the win though, taking the first set 7-6 and winning the second set 6-4 for the victory.
The men's tennis team is scheduled to play St. Francis at home on Sunday for its next match. The match is Senior Day and is scheduled to begin at 12:00 PM.
