Women's Tennis Takes Down East Stroudsburg in Regular Season Finale

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. - The Bloomsburg women's tennis team closed out the regular season with a 6-1 win over East Stroudsburg, Tuesday afternoon. The Huskies improved to 5-10 on the year and 5-2 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East action while the Warriors dropped to 0-10 and 0-7 in the PSAC East.

Maddie Delisio (West Hanover, Pa./Central Dauphin) and Brooke Henry (Saint Mary's, PA/Saint Mary's Area) combined for a 6-0 win at No. 2 doubles before Alyssa Mazurek (McAdoo, PA/Hazleton Area) and Juliana Kim (Ridgefield, NJ/Ridgefield Memorial High School) won by default at No. 3 to clinch the doubles point for the Huskies.

Mazurek got her second win of the day with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 5 singles and Jen McDonald (Melbourne, Australia/Brentwood Secondary College) (No. 2 Singles) and Alese Rinker (Altoona, Pa./Altoona Area) (No. 3 Singles) each won 6-2, 6-0. Sarah Capoferri (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) won 8-0 at No. 4 singles. Henry earned a default win at No. 6 singles for the sixth point for the Huskies.

Bloomsburg clinched the No. 3 seed in the PSAC Tournament. The Huskies travel to Millersville on Thursday for the quarterfinals match at 4:00 p.m. The semifinals and championship matches are set for the Burt Reese Tennis Center on Saturday and Sunday.
