Women's Lacrosse Tripped Up At Kutztown, Wednesday Afternoon

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Bloomsburg women's lacrosse team fell to Kutztown, 19-6, Wednesday afternoon. The Huskies dropped to 6-9 on the year and 3-6 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East while the Golden Bears improved to 10-3 and 7-2 in the conference.
 
Senior Kate Roberts (Lehman, Pa./Lake Lehman) led the Huskies with a goal and an assist while Haley Williams (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley), Madison Coyle (Williamstown, N.J./Williamstown), Amanda Stoll (Farmingdale, N.Y./Farmingdale), Julia Cote (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus), and Mia Boccippio (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough) all scored for Bloomsburg. Annie Rollins (Shamong, N.J./Seneca) added an assist for BU.

Stoll paced Bloomsburg with five draw controls and Amanda Biehl (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) and Kristen Lee (Richboro, Pa./Council Rock South) each caused two turnovers. Coyle picked up a team-best four ground balls.
 
Lauren Foley (Schwenksville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) made six saves in 44:22 while Emily Graham (Wantagh, N.Y./St. Anthony's) had a pair of saves in 15:38 of action.
 
The Golden Bears raced out to an early lead with a 7-0 first. Stoll halted the Golden Bears' run with ag goal to open the second. Cote, Coyle, and Roberts all added a tally to cut the KU Lead to 12-4 at halftime.
 
Kutztown out-scored Bloomsburg 5-0 in the third quarter and William and Boccipppio added a goal late in the fourth as Kutztown won 19-6.
 
The Huskies get back to action next Wednesday when they host East Stroudsburg in a 2:00 p.m. PSAC East contest.
