BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The women's tennis team fell to Jefferson 7-0 at home during Senior Day on Sunday.
Prior to the match, seniors
Luana Bernardi (Aruja, Sao Paulo, Brazil/Colegio Reino) and
Sarah Capoferri (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) were honored along with graduate assistant coach
Vitoria Nery for the team's annual senior day celebration.
During the doubles portion of the match, Bernardi teamed up with
Lexi Quackenbush (Pittsburgh, PA/Fox Chapel) to take on Jefferson's Anna Morgillo and Nicole Hrbkova in the No. 1 doubles match. Bernardi and Quackenbush played tough, but Jefferson's tandem ultimately won the match by a score of 6-4.
The Rams also won the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles matches by identical scores of 6-1 to take the doubles point.
Jefferson then swept the singles competitions to grab the 7-0 win.
Bloomsburg's women's tennis team will be back in action on Monday with a home match against Kutztown at 3:00 PM.
