MANSFIELD, Pa. – The Bloomsburg women's cross country team opened the season with win over Mansfield in the Short Course Open after the Huskies swept the top five finishes in the 4K race, Thursday night.
 
Kelley Selheimer (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) led the way for Bloomsburg with a time of 15:23.0 while Amanda Kelly (West Chester, Pa./Henderson) took second at 15:35.0. Sydney Werner (/) crossed the finish line third overall at 15:47.0. Alyssa Cunningham (/) took fourth overall with a time of 15:48.0. Jaime Diedel (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) finished fifth for the clean sweep for the Huskies with a time of 15:50.0.
 
Brianna Dumond (Tamaqua, Pa./Tamaqua Area) was the sixth Husky across the finish line and the eighth runner overall with a time of 16:17.0. Melina Turner (/) took ninth overall at 16:18.0 and Alyssa Keeley (Northumberland, Pa./Shikellamy) came in 10^th at 16:19.0. Sarah Sweet (Erie, Pa./Mercyhurst Prepatory) (16:25.0), Julia Magee (Chalfont, Pa./Central Bucks South) (16:27.0), and Meah Eshelman (/) (16:30.0) finished 11^th through 13^th.
 
Hailey Poust (/) took 15^th at 16:49.0 and Kayla Kinney (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) finished 17^th at 17:30.0. Ashlyn Albright (/) came in 18^th with a time of 17:40.0 and Abby Rice (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown Area) took 19^th overall with a time 17:50.0. Shannon Kelly (Warminster, Pa./Archbishop Wood) rounded out the runners for the Huskies with a 23^rd-place finish at 19:07.0.
 
The Huskies have the next week off to prepare for the DiI/III Challenge hosted by Kutztown University on Friday, September 15. The race begins at 5:45 p.m.
