BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg field hockey team remains undefeated after posting a 3-0 victory over St. Thomas Aquinas College in a non-conference matchup at Steph Pettit Stadium on Monday afternoon.

Bloomsburg (7-0) struck early with senior midfielder
Sam Schaffer (Vestal, N.Y./Vestal) putting one past the St. Thomas Aquinas (0-6) goalkeeper on a corner. Junior midfielder
Bella Culp (Dauphin, Pa./Central Dauphin) received the insert and took it across the top of the shooting circle before dropping it off for Schaffer for the goal.

In the second half, junior forward
Aydan McFarland (Bloomsburg, Pa./Bloomsburg Area) intercepted a pass outside the shooting circle before launching a reverse hit into the back of the net.

Just over three minutes into the fourth quarter, Culp received a corner insert and made a move around the defender before firing a shot into the cage to extend the Huskies lead to 3-0.

Culp finished the day with a goal and an assist and has posted three points in back-to-back contests.

The Huskies held a 12-0 advantage in shots on goal, while outshooting the Spartans 19-7.

Bloomsburg is off to its best start since 2011 when the Huskies went 19-1.

The Huskies return to Steph Pettit Stadium on Saturday as they host Shippensburg for a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) matchup beginning at noon.
