BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The women's soccer team forced a 0-0 draw against No. 7 Kutztown in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) matchup on Wednesday night at Keystone Field.
Â
Bloomsburg (2-3-3, 2-2-2 PSAC East) faced pressure from Kutztown (6-0-3, 5-0-2) early, as the Golden Bears rattled off five shots in the first eleven minutes. The best chance in the early moments of the match came at the 5:19 mark as graduate goalkeeper
Riley Spingler (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) made a diving save on a shot attempt from Isabella Rossetti.
Â
The Huskies applied pressure late in the first half with their best oppurtunity coming on a corner with just over 10 minutes to play. On the corner, junior defender
Erin Ranegan's (Wilmington, Del./Conrad School of Science) header attempt found the crossbar before falling to senior midfielder
Lauren Bull (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) who was unable to beat goalkeeper Cassandra Baker.
Â
The second half saw less action as both teams combined for just five shots and two shots on net.
Â
Spingler posted her 14th career clean sheet with a seven-save performance. It is her third solo-shutout of the season.
Â
Kutztown held Bloomsburg to just five shots and two shots on goal in the contest. Bull led the team in shots with two, while senior forward
Gina Sexton (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) also recorded a shot on goal.
