ERIE, Pa. – The Bloomsburg men's basketball team dropped its final Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) divisional crossover game of the season to Mercyhurst, 100-55.

Bloomsburg (2-10, 0-6 PSAC) struggled early against one of the nations top defensive teams as Mercyhurst (7-7, 3-3) jumped to an early 9-0 lead.

After falling behind early, the Huskies were able to trade points with the Lakers for much of the first half. However, a trio of technical fouls in 90 seconds allowed MU to pull even further ahead in the first half.

The second half saw Mercyhurst continue to take control on both sides of the court. The Lakers shot 75 percent (18-for-24) from the floor in the second half, while holding the maroon and gold to 36 percent (9-for-25) shooting in the frame.

Overall, Bloomsburg shot 18-of-53 (34%) in the contest while the Lakers hit 33 of their 50 attempts (66%).

Louie Wild (Philadelphia, PA/Roman Catholic) led the Huskies in scoring with 16 points, going 6-for-10 from the floor.

Matt Bengel (Erie, Pa./Mercyhurst Prep) recorded nine points while picking up a pair of assists and steals.

The Huskies begin PSAC divisional play on Saturday, January 6 as they host Shippensburg at 3 p.m.
