BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg men's basketball team dropped its home opener to Seton Hill, 75-57 in a non-conference matchup inside the Nelson Field House on Wednesday night.

Matt Bengel (Erie, Pa./Mercyhurst Prep) fell short of a double-double, recording team-highs in points (19) and rebounds (8). The senior guard also lead the team in steals with four. Bengel went 8-for-18 (44.4 percent) from the floor and a perfect three-for-three from the line.

Danny Bruce (Edinboro, Pa./General McLane) posted 12 points in 18 minutes off the bench, going 6-for-7 (85.7 percent) on field goals. The junior also notched three assists.
Louie Wild (Philadelphia, PA/Roman Catholic) finished the game with 11 points, five rebounds, and three assists.
Mondyu Richards (Silver Spring, Md./Albert Einstein) tallied seven points, four blocks and three assists on the night.

As a team, the Huskies shot 24-for-57 from the floor, including 16-of-32 (50.0 percent) in the first half. The Griffins posted 32-for-71 shooting in the contest.

Bloomsburg (0-3) brought the boom to Nelson Field House right off the tip-off, with Wild sending an alley-oop to Richards to open the scoring. After a quick exchange between the Huskies and Seton Hill (3-0), the Huskies went on a 14-8 run to give the maroon and gold a 20-14 lead. The run saw contributions from all throughout the lineup, as four different players found the scoresheet during the stretch.

The Griffins retook the lead on a nine-point run after calling time out and forced another back-and-forth lead exchange between the two teams. With the score knotted at 36 apiece nearing halftime, Seton Hill's Ryan Meis hit a buzzer-beater from the corner to give SHU a 39-36 lead going into the locker room.

It took nearly three minutes for a shot to fall in the second half, but the Griffins' secured the first points of the frame on a layup from Gabe Gillespie to take control early. A jumper from Bruce pulled the maroon and gold back within one score, before a ten-point swing from SHU brought the lead to double digits. From there, the Huskies were unable to close the gap, falling to Seton Hill, 75-57.

Bloomsburg is on the road for its next matchup, facing off against Georgian Court on Saturday, November 16 at 4 p.m.
